The MG Windsor EV that will be launched on September 11 has been recently spotted test driving on the streets of Mumbai, showing a glimpse of the interior features.
MG Windsor: What’s new?
The spy shots of the Windsor EV reveal a prominent touchscreen infotainment system resembling the vertical unit found in the Wuling Cloud EV, on which the Windsor EV is based. This touchscreen, similar to the Cloud EV’s 15.6-inch display, supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additional visible features include an auto-dimming rearview mirror and black seat upholstery. Like the Tata Curvv EV and Mahindra XUV700, the Windsor EV is equipped with flush door handles and has its charging flap located on the front fender.
The MG Windsor EV, MG’s third electric vehicle in India, is anticipated to feature a 15.6-inch touchscreen similar to the Wuling Cloud EV, a panoramic glass roof, a 135-degree reclining rear seat, and rear AC vents. It is also expected to include a digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, 6 airbags, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The Windsor EV will likely be equipped with a 50.6 kWh battery and a revised ARAI-rated range.
MG Windsor Powertrain and Dimension
As stated before the Windsor is wider and taller with a width of 1850 mm and 1652 mm and is based on the longer 2700 mm wheelbase. The CUV is expected to be powered by a 50.6 kWh battery and should offer a range in the region of 460 km. It has a single motor mounted on the front axle and has an output of 134 bhp and 200 Nm and based on other reports there is an entry-level trim of the Windsor EV that could get a 37.9 kWh battery with a range of around 350 km.
The MG Windsor features automatic LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, an electric tailgate, a 360-degree camera and all four disc brakes. The cabin gets a 360-degree camera, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat and 4-way adjustable powered front passenger seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and the rear bench has a sofa feature that can recline to 135-degrees.
Pricing of this CUV is expected to start at Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom).
