Reacting to the government stand on the strike, Gurinder Pal Singh, chairman, All India Motor Transport Congress said, ?We are ready to submit our permits. But under no circumstances will the strike be called off unless all our demands are met.?

The worst impact of the strike has been seen in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. ?In Karnataka and Andhra, 3,10,000 trucks and 2,60,000 trucks are stranded, respectively,? said Ramesh Agarwal, president, All India Transporters Welfare Association.

?In Delhi, almost 68,000 trucks are stranded at various locations. Also, we have asked our drivers en route to camp at suitable locations,? added Agarwal.
