What does success mean to you?
Success is a very abstract perception which differs between individuals as to what it means to oneself or for others. To me success means being uniformly respected and loved by my near and dear ones, my family, my patients and peers for what I am and what I do.
Thus success needs to encompass both professional and personal lives, which is extremely difficult to achieve; for often one may strive so hard for professional success at the expense of family time and thus loose out on personal success or vice versa.
Success based on professional and monetary achievements is only a perception. It is very important to give back to society; luckily my profession allows me to do a lot for society daily, which is satisfying.
I also believe that ?success? is never because of oneself alone, it always rests on four pillars. It relies on your devotion, sincerity and focus towards your cause. Secondly, it relies on support of family and dear ones who are the pillars of strength in testing times.
Thirdly, it relies on blessings of parents and love and affection of peers and patients. And fourthly, but most importantly, it relies on your belief in spirituality and the blessings of the almighty.
What is your biggest strength?
As I look back, for my professional success I think the biggest strength has been the support of the family. However, the biggest strength is to believe that my success, where and how I stand today, is willed by God; he dictates the success of my angioplasty procedures or treatment, he dictates the results and outcomes.
What works as a stress buster for you?
Going on holidays with family is a great stress buster. One forgets the world around at least for some time. On a personal level, I have been learning music, which again is great for relieving stress. Daily exercise is another way.
God to you is?
God to me is almighty: the one who decides my destiny, guides and provides strength through my failures and creates success provided I deliver. God does not mean religion and rituals for me; it means that whoever you follow as guru or whoever is your god, he is the almighty you thank for every successfully passing day.
