Texas Instruments (TI) organized ?Innovation Day? for the Education and Skills sector in New Delhi on Wednesday. The company?s customers showcased a number of innovative solutions they had developed partnering with TI helpful in providing inclusive education and skills to school students across the country.

Mr. Kapil Sibal, Hon?ble Minister for Human Resource Development, Government of India, delivered the keynote address. Ms. D. Purandeswari, Hon?ble Minister of State for Human Resource Development also addressed the gathering comprising more than 120 senior officials from the Central and State governments, trade and industry associations and education service providers. Dr. Biswadip (Bobby) Mitra, President & Managing Director, Texas Instruments India and senior executives from the company were present.

The solutions demonstrated at the event included e-book, 3D Digital Light Processing (DLP) projector, Pico projector, PointBlank Interactive DLP, Network projector, Web console, Thin client, Solar powered handheld tablet, LED DLP projector, Video conferencing and TI Education technology devices. DLP, a technology developed by TI, is widely deployed in projectors and 3D cinemas across the world. Pico projector is a tiny device developed using DLP technology that can be fitted into cell phones, camcorders, etc. to make high resolution presentations.

Solutions developed by Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and TI?s first leadership university outside the US and by TERI for their green schools initiative under their Lighting a Billion Lives program were also demonstrated.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Kapil Sibal, said, ?Eradication of illiteracy is absolutely critical for the fruits of our technological and economic prosperity to reach the masses that are spread far and wide. The Government has been steadfastly striving to make India a strong, knowledge-based economy. Industry and academia must work with the Government to build a strong education infrastructure in the country.?
