The Orissa government going to renew the Posco-India MoU before it turns a year since the MoU expired. Even though the Orissa minister for steel and mines, Raghunath Mohanty, says that the MoU would be renewed by month-end, sources in the government told FE that the MoU would be renewed before June 22, 2011.
Sources said the draft MoU has been sent to the chief minister Naveen Patnaik for the final approval. Once the draft is approved, the government would take a decision when to renew the MoU. Meanwhile, the state chief secretary BK Patnaik, has convened a high-level meeting next week to discuss the MoU.
