R Balakrishnan (Balki), the? new chairman of Lowe India, is chalking out an aggressive?growth strategy for his agency?to?gain a competitive edge in the Rs 16,000 crore Indian advertising industry.

For starters, Balki is planning to launch a dedicated digital creative cell at Lowe India- the first of its kind .

“We have just appointed Zahir Mirza to head our new?division. This cell will provide digital creative solutions to our clients. We are now recruiting people to run?this cell,” said Balakrishnan.

In addition, Lowe India is also planning set up a ‘retail creative cell’ to cater to the communication needs of advertisers.

According to Balakrishnan, Lowe India’s core focus will be on ‘organic growth’. “We are adding muscle to our manpower to handle the influx of new accounts. Our main objective is to offer superior ideas to our clients to expand their as well as our business,” he added.

The agency is now on a recruitment spree to diversify its operations and services across the country. On the controversy regarding the dues for Lowe’s creative consultants from the sale of Lowe to IPG, Balakrishnan said: “We creatives have accepted the legal standing of Lowe India for our dues. The matter is now closed.”
