1 The job: Since we are a family business, I started attending business meetings with my father at the age of 11. This was instrumental in building the right sensibilities required for the FMCG business. Innovation is in the DNA of our brand and my mandate at the company is to take all our brands to new heights. So what I do can be called “the love of my life” and not a job. And therefore, there’s nothing I don’t like about it.
2 The weekdays: Though our working hours are from 8:30 am to 5 pm, many times I end my day later than that. Work travel takes me to at least three cities in a month.
Post-work, I look forward to spending time with my two-and-a-half year-old daughter by taking her outdoors. She is off to bed by 8:30 pm after which I spend the rest of the evening with my husband. Most importantly, I like to maintain an active social life, especially on weekdays.
3 The weekend: We work on the first and third Saturdays and so weekends are shorter for me. Besides planning short family vacations, I enjoy horse riding, rafting and swimming on any weekend.
To ensure that every weekend is exciting and different, I try to organise the schedule in advance. I am also notorious for being accessible to my colleagues even on weekends.
4 The toys: Being a gadget freak, I am constantly on the prowl for new mini machines. I have two smartphones (Blackberry and iPhone), a MacBook and one iPad. I carry these in a small gadget bag which moves with me wherever I go.
I am looking forward to owning the iPhone5, hoping for some major modifications. I hope one day someone will invent a universal charger which can put an end to carrying different chargers for different devices.
5 The logos: Apple is the only brand I will remain loyal to. For clothing and accessories I go for all Indian and international labels, comfort being the priority.
