Nissan Motor India is expected to start delivery of its first made-in-India compact car, Micra, by July 15. The car will be launched in four variants (all in petrol) ?? XE, XE+, XL and XV?? and is expected to carry a price tag ranging between Rs 3,80,000 and Rs 5,25,000 (ex-showroom), sources said.

Micra, which will compete with Swift, i10 and Figo among other cars in the ?B? and ?B+? segments, will be available in a minimum of six colours. All the four variants set to storm the market with a few first-of-its-kind features. It is believed that the company has already notched up around 500 bookings since the process began during the last week of May.

The base version is expected to have some unique features such as roof antenna, manual AC, engine immobiliser and driver-side airbag. The top version will come with auto AC (climate control), push button ignition, front passenger side airbag, ABS, fog lamps and security alarm among a host of add-on packages, sources maintained.

The new Nissan Micra, built on a new versatile platform, V-platform, is designed to have broad appeal to customers in both emerging and developed markets. Nissan Micra was designed and tested in Japan and fine-tuned to meet the differing tastes and needs of customers worldwide. Nissan is also looking at making the Chennai plant.
