The Trinamool Congress on Tuesday hinted at choosing the path of conflict over the Singur issue as party chief Mamata Banerjee will decide the next course of action after September 19.
?I don?t want the Tatas to pull out of Singur, but I am not bothered either. However, the main plant can be set up on 600 acres and ancillary units on 100 acre,? Banerjee said addressing a rally in Singur. ?I will meet the governor on Friday and declare our next course of action after that.?
The special four-member committee on Singur land is likely to submit its report to governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi on September 19, the day he returns from New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Banerjee has threatened to launch her dharna again if the state government does not abide by the agreement signed in the presence of the governor. ?The government has cheated us,? she said.
Accusing state commerce & industries minister Nirupam Sen for not going by the terms of the agreement, she said: ?We are not in favour of the package.?
Subrata Mukherjee, West Bengal Congress working president, was present at the rally. WBPCC president Priyaranjan Das Munshi said, ?I asked him not to go. It is his decision not to obey the party.?
