Aiming to tap about 20 per cent market share in the scooter market, two-wheeler maker Kinetic Motor Company said it is expecting to sell 10,000 units of its newly launched ‘Flyte’ scooter within next five to six months.

“We have set a target to sell 10,000 ‘Flyte’ scooters within next 5-6 months,” Kinetic Motor Company Ltd Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Rahul Bhatnagar told reporters after launching ‘Flyte’ scooter said.

Bhatnagar said the company is looking at acquiring 20 per cent market share within next six months and the launch of Flyte would help in achieving the target.

“Presently, we have nine per cent market share and we hope to acquire 20 per cent in next couple of months,” The country’s scooter market stood at 80,000 units per annum, growing at a pace of 15 per cent, he informed.

On strengthening its dealers’ network, Bhatnagar said the company would open more outlets for reaching out to targeted customers. “We plan to open 125 more outlets within a year, which would take the total strength of outlets to 475,” he said.

The company had tied up with Taiwan-based group SYM for manufacturing new range of scooters. “After the launch of 125 CC Flyte in Indian market, we also plan to roll out new models in near future,” he said.
