Jamshedpur Utilities & Services Company Ltd (Jusco) has bagged the ‘TPM Excellence Award – 2008’ instituted by the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM).
Jusco has become the only company in the world in the utility services domain to achieve it.
Each year JIPM confers the TPM awards to applicants from all over the world who perform exceedingly well in implementing total productivity maintenance (TPM).
JIPM defines TPM as a system of maintenance covering the entire life of the equipment in every division including planning, manufacturing, and maintenance to increase productivity of the equipment. Cost reduction, stringent product/service quality, minimising losses and avoidance of 3Ds (difficult, dirty & dangerous) are basic fundamentals of its TPM. Jusco has bagged several prestigious water supply projects around the country including in cities like Mysore (Karnataka), Bhopal, Indore, Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Kolkata (Salt Lake Sector-V) and for the industrial city of Haldia.
