India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda Motor Ltd (HHML) reported a 2.8 per cent increase in its vehicle sales during November at 2,88,027 units compared to 2,80,171 units in the same month last year.
The company’s sales during the festive season this year stood at five lakh units, HHML said in a statement.
“This is a repeat of last year’s record festive season performance, when the company had clocked similar retail numbers. It is especially significant when the two-wheeler industry has been experiencing a slowdown,” the statement said.
HHML’s cumulative sales during the January- November increased to 30,68,519 units.
It said new 150 cc motorcycle Hunk, has received a very encouraging initial response from customers helping the company more than double its volume and share in the premium bike segment this year.
“The consistent performance of HHML has been possible due to the company’s multi-focal strategy of bringing in new products across segments, supporting them with strong communication and augmenting its distribution network.
With this growth momentum, Hero Honda continues to steadily consolidate its more than 50 per cent share in domestic motorcycle market,” it said.
