To encourage sports in the state, the Haryana government on Monday announced to provide job for outstanding players as per their academic qualification.

?Outstanding players of Haryana would be provided government jobs as per their academic qualifications and achievements in sports,? said Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

The chief minister was interacting with the internationally famous wrestler Ravinder Singh Sangwan, who has won bronze medal in the recently concluded Asian Games, in Rohtak. Hooda said that the state government had planned to spend a sum of Rs 20 crore on basic sports facilities in the state. As many as 11 sports academies were being set up in the state, he added.

He said that the state government had not only honoured the outstanding players of the state, but had also appointed them to the higher post. The state government had brought in a new tradition of honouring players publicly, which has encouraged more children to participate in games. The Sports Policy of Haryana had gained popularity in the whole of country. Under the policy, the talented players were groomed which will enable them to compete at international circuit. The players of Haryana, who would win gold, silver and bronze medals in the Olympic Games, would be given a cash prize of Rs 2 crore, Rs one crore and Rs 50 lakh respectively, he added.
