Haryana government has appealed the agitating Jats desist from putting up blockades which is not only affecting the common man but also causing loss to the industries in the state.
State industry minister Randeep Singh Surjewala on Wednesday urged the Jat leaders not to be misled by the opposition leaders. He told mediapersons at Kaithal that the state govt has forwarded their demand to the Centre and it was expected that a positive initiative would soon be taken.
Surjewala also presented a cheque of R2 lakh to the widow of Surender Thukral, former correspondent of Dainik Tribune, Kamlesh Thukral as assistance from the state. He also laid the foundation stone of additional siphon adjoining Hansi-Butana Link Canal near village Kyodak at Kaithal on Wednesday.
The minister said that the state government has sanctioned schemes costing R26 crore to save district Kaithal from floods. He said that a concrete wall in the shape of dam would be constructed between Ghaggar and Hansi-Butana Link Canal at a cost of R10 crore and this canal would serve as a life line for farmers.
Sarswati river crossed BML Hansi-Butana branch at RD 117650. A siphon was constructed to drain out the flood water of Sarswati river which was badly damaged last year during floods. A technical experts? team from Rurki had been called for finding measures to avert floods and they recommended setting up of additional siphon. On the basis of their recommendations, additional siphons would be constructed at a cost of R 4.5 crore near Kyodak and Nauch. It would benefit villages like Mangana, Nauch, Balwanti, Jaswanti, Dayora, Kyodak, Ujhana, Kultaran, Khurana and Kaithal town.
