Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Wednesday met senior cabinet colleagues and government officials, as Andhra Pradesh braces for the submission of the Srikrishna Commission report on the demand for a state of Telengana.
Those who attended the meeting include finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, defence minister AK Antony, home minister P Chidambaram and law minister M Veerappa Moily and senior government officials.
Chidambaram is understood to have briefed the meeting about the security measures, including sending 5,000 central paramilitary force personnel to the state.
Information and broadcasting minister Ambika Soni met Chidambaram and discussed the advisory issued by the News Broadcasters Association asking TV channels to be ?sensitive? while covering the release of the report.
