Switzerland-based aviation major Execujet Aviation came a step closer for launching its operations in India with the signing of an agreement allowing it to set up its fixed base of operations (FBO) in Malaysia?s Skypark Subang. The company already has an FBO in Dubai and will offer high net-worth individuals (HNI) in India air charter services to start with.
Execujet is heavily involved in all areas of the business aviation sector including new and used aircraft sales, aircraft maintenance, management and operations, completion management, charters and fixed base operations (FBOs) and has opened an office in Mumbai to market its offering to the 100,000 odd Indian HNIs.
?A general manager to head the India operations will be joining the Mumbai office soon,? Gerrit Basson, group managing director, Execujets said. The company has already finalised a family-owned industrial group as its Indian partner but as the formalities are yet to be completed, the company did not divulge the name of the Indian partner.
?India will be the fifth business unit after Europe, South Africa, Australia and the Middle East,? Peter Smales, ED, Execujet said. ExecuJet has operating bases in Zurich, London, Berlin, Copenhagen, Cape Town, Sydney, Johannesburg, Dubai, Riyadh, Singapore and Monterrey and now also at Malaysia?s Subang Airport.
The company employs more than 750 staff directly across the globe. The company has more than 110 aircraft under full and partial management and offers more than 50 aircraft for charter.
According to company officials, for now, Execujet will not have a fixed base of operation within India but will pick up passengers while traveling between Singapore and Malaysia, to and from Dubai or Riyadh.
Execujet is also in the process of bringing its innovative and popular SimplyFly product to the country. SimplyFly, is essentially tailored for HNWIs and corporations.
