Ethnicity, the leading one-stop shop for ?Everything Indian? for women, men and kids having 25 stores across Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Durgapur, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, Thane and Vadodara today opened its first store in north at Chandigarh?s largest mall-Elante.
Vishal Singh Panwar, Head (Operations), Ethnicity told reporters during the launch that Ethnicity would open 8 new stores in north before March 2014 and six of these would located at Delhi and NCR region while one each would be opened at Ludhiana and Amritsar in Punjab. ?Our idea is to tap northern region in a big way to ensure that north contributes at least 20 to 25 per cent to total sales?, he said. ?
Panwar informed that Ethnicity at present has a retail area of over 1.20 lakh sq. feet across the 25 stores and it would add another 75,000 sq feet by 2014-15. He said that despite economic slowdown, the company has been able to achieve a double digit growth during the last five years. About the USP of Ethnicity, he said that while Indian customers are after western attire and accessories, ?Ethnicity? brings you a unique concept of ?Everything Indian? under one roof and an experience that takes shoppers back to their roots making wardrobes richer with stylish and traditional apparel for women, men and children. Ethnicity today launched three main fashion lines in a glittering event which saw models wear the Indian designer wear from Ethnicity with poise and elegance. Retro Tadka ? with geometric prints and bright colours in cambric fabric, Shahi Gharana ? with kurtas using rich fabrics such as polysilk and brocades and vintage Rajputana?with printed flary garments having pastel colours in cambric fabric.
Panwar said that Corporate Social Responsibility has been an avowed dream for Ethnicity and it has aligned itself with the Share Some Light concept in association with Have a Heart foundation. One has to donate old clothes to be a part of Share Some Light promotion. Have a Heart Foundation reaches out to children of daily wage earners who ear as little as Rs 2000 per month. The Foundation has also tied up with hospitals in Bangalore, Kolkata, Durgapur, Jaipur and Ludhiana to provide unbiased superlative operative and post-operative care for patients.
