Eight developers, including Unitech Ltd of Kolkata, TCG Urban Infrastructure & Holding Ltd of Mumbai and Eldeco Infrastructure & Proporties Ltd of New Delhi have shown interest to develop a biotechnology park, Genetech City, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar in Orissa.
State science and technology minister Sanjiv Sahoo told FE that the state government would be able to find out a developer for the project by the end of this month.
According to him, interested developers have been asked to give presentations on the project to the state government.
Besides Unitech, TCG and Eldeco, Mumbai-based Akruti Nirmal Ltd, Bharat Biotech Infrastructrue of Hyderabad, Ambience Developers and Infrastructure Pvt Ltd of New Delhi, Bhubaneswar Entertainment World Developers, and Ramkey Infrastructure Ltd of Hyderabad have submitted their biddings.
The state government has identified 54 acres at Andharua on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar for the development of Genetech City.
Deciding to develop the city under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, the state government had invited biddings from private developers.
The city will have a biotechnology and pharmaceutical corridor on 25 acres and an information technology center on 15 acres. A biotech incubator centre will be developed on 10 acres.
