The Federation of All-India Petroleum Traders (FAIPT), which consists of 40,700 dealers of government-owned oil marketing companies (OMCs), including IOC, HPCL and BPCL, is firm on its demand for increasing the commission per litre on percentage basis and insists that these OMCs should immediately pay the arrears owing to the commission hike for the last six months.

FAIPT president Ashok Badhwar said the Union finance ministry should also set up a committee comprising officials of the ministries concerned, members of FAIPT and OMCs on a uniform pricing system across the country for petroleum products, which would help tackle smuggling of oil products.
