Hero Corporate Services on Wednesday identified two more officers who may have colluded with the expelled vice-president Sanjay Gupta in perpetrating the fraud in connivance with Shivraj Puri of Citibank?s Gurgaon branch. The two officers are Ganpat Singh and Gaurav Jain, who have been sent on leave with immediate effect.
?Further appropriate action will be taken after the final outcome of the enquiry,? a Hero Group statement said. In fact FE has learnt that the enforcement directorate (ED) has sought comprehensive details from the Gurgaon police relating to the transactions made in the last one year. ?The ED is in touch with the Gurgaon police at this stage,? a source said. He said ED would look at whether any violation to the Foreign Exchange Management Act took place or not.
Hero Group?s statement comes barely three days after the Gurgaon police apprehended Gupta for colluding with the tainted Citibank relationship manager Shivraj Puri. Police commissioner of Gurgaon SS Deswal said Puri had paid Gupta a commission of Rs 20 crore for bringing more clients from the Munjal family. The members of the extended Munjal family would be questioned.
