The Delhi government is planning to come out with a booklet, highlighting the ?achievements? and ?works? carried out by various departments during 100 days of President?s rule in Delhi under Lt-Governor Najeeb Jung, who is the direct administrator of the National Capital Territory at present.
A circular asking all heads of departments to compile such information has been issued by the Directorate of Information and Publicity (DIP), officials said.
President?s rule was enforced in Delhi since February 16, after AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal resigned as chief minister on February 14.
?The idea of printing such a booklet is to ensure that information regarding the work done during this period is available in the public domain. We want people to know that work is being carried out by each department under the supervision of the Lt-Governor and despite the absence of a government. Such information will be put together and sent to the Lt-Governor?s office for approval before a booklet is printed,? a government official said.
Delhi?s Chief Secretary S K Srivastava had reportedly directed the DIP to issue such a circular to all heads of departments, asking them to compile relevant information at the earliest.
Usually such a review is carried out by every political party in power in Delhi with an aim to highlight their achievements during the first 100 days of governance.
?The booklet will include information about how many searches were conducted in Delhi and what did they achieve through this action,? an official said.
So far, four multi-agency searches have been conducted in Delhi as per the directions of Lt-Governor to check irregularities and deficiency in services. ?These searches have helped streamline public dealing operations in the city to a large extent. These searches involved departments like food and supplies, transport, health education, etc,?? an official said.
The Lt-Governor has been taking regular review meetings of municipal corporations and government departments to ensure smooth functioning of the government machinery.
?One such meeting was held in the Delhi Secretariat on April 16 to review the work done in the last two months with a special emphasis on drawing up summer plans for water and power. Another review meeting is expected to take place on Wednesday at the Delhi Secretariat again,? an official said.
