As many as 101 disabled couples from across the country will take marriage vows in a mass wedding at Ramleela grounds here on Saturday and Sunday. The mass wedding, organised by an Udaipur based not-for profit organisation ‘Narayan Sewa Sansthan’, will witness couples including Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs participate in the ceremony which is to be held in accordance with their religious rituals.
To solemnise the ceremony an Imam and 115 Pandits have been engaged through the day. ?To make this event a success, a meeting of ?Sansthanmandal? has been organised. Under the directions of the Sansthan Mandal, several teams of the organisation have started visiting various places all over the city,” NSS president Prashant Aggarwal says.
To run the mega event smoothly, NSS has constituted nearly two dozen committees. The various committees include the organising committee, stalls committee, registration committee, reception committee, traffic committee, residence committee, hospitality committee and committee for meal arrangement among others.
“The NSS teams are locating physically disabled bachelors and registering them for mass wedding,” Aggarwal adds. Over 950 patrons from countries like Africa, Nepal and other countries will also grace the event, apart from the Indian fraternity witnessing the event.
