NHAI has reduced toll collection costs by 43.5% through timely bidding and minimizing short-term contracts. In 2024-25, the cost of toll collection was Rs 2,674 crore, a decrease from Rs 4,736 crore in 2023-24. Measures were also taken to reduce short-term contracts and increase engagement with toll collection agencies.
