Rajat Patidar, a right-handed batsman, made his entry into the international ODI circuit against South Africa in December 2023, scoring 22 runs. Born on June 1, 1993, Patidar hails from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He got into the Test against England in February 2024 but failed badly, able to score only 63 runs in three Tests. His international career did not get off to a roaring start, but his domestic and IPL performances keep him in contention for a bigger role in Indian cricket.
In IPL, Patidar commenced in 2021 with RCB. While his first season did not create much of a splash, he made a sensational return in 2022 as a replacement player, making 333 runs in eight matches at an average of 55.50 and a strike rate of 152.75. One of those innings, the 112 not out against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator, will forever be etched in the history books as one of the great IPL innings. He missed the 2023 season due to injury but bounced back emphatically in 2024 with 395 runs, having a strike rate close to 177.13. In 2025, he was named RCB captain, opening yet another chapter in his IPL career, as he attempts to claim the first-ever title for the team.
