Personal care firm Nivea India said it would be launching a range of male grooming products this year, besides focusing on its existing ones, to increase its market share substantially from the present 12 per cent in the category.
The company, which currently enjoys a market share of around 12 per cent in the estimated Rs 85-crore Indian male grooming market, said it expects to leverage its association with IPL team Chennai Super Kings for building its brand.
“There are a few launches lined up for this year in the male grooming category like skin care lotions, deodorants apart from a woman’s face care range. We would like to substantially increase our market share in the male grooming market,” Nivea India Head Marketing Shoma Ghosh said.
She, declined to give any further details on when the products are likely to be launched or the investment plans.
Ghosh, however, added that “the focus for the company this year would also remain on its existing products”.
“We hope our association with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the official face care partner will help in taking our brand forward and creating awareness of our products. We also expect that it would build our sales,” she said.
