Mumbai: Bharti Axa General Insurance Company on Tuesday said that it has received regulatory approval for its Critical Illness Insurance Policy which covers 20 critical illnesses.

The critical illness insurance policy covers 20 critical illnesses like cancer, first heart attack, heart valve surgery, coma, organ transplantation, kidney failure, etc., a press release issued in Mumbai stated.

It has family floater facility for self, spouse and two dependent children up to 23-years, and flexibility to choose coverage either as payment of hospitalisation expenses or as payment of compensation, the release said.

The product also offers value-added benefits such as hospital cash allowance, recovery grant, dread disease recuperation, among others under payment of hospitalisation expenses option and a five per cent discount on policy renewal premium for every claim-free year, among others, the release said. BHARTI AXA 2 LAST (bcm54) Bharti AXA General Insurance's CEO, Amarnath Ananthanarayanan, said that “critical illness cover is extremely important as illness can affect us at any time. Our aim is to raise awareness of the benefits of critical illness and other health insurance products.” The company has filed two more products with the regulator -- SmartHealth Essential and SmartHealth High Deductible.

Bharti AXA General Insurance already has group and individual health as well as personal accident products under its current health offering to the market.
