The Left parties on Wednesday accused the UPA government of ?aiding and abetting? Israel in its offensive against Palestine and demanded snapping of military and security ties with it. The Left was joined by the UNPA and the NCP.

Alleging that the UPA government is aiding Israel military, the parties demanded that India snap military and security ties with the country.

Addressing a joint press conference, CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat said that the Left and the ?like-minded parties? will soon launch a campaign among the parliamentarians and out side the Parliament against the government?s ?anti-Palestine? stand. ?We are betraying one of its most principled positions of support to Palestinians,? Karat said. NCP leader DK Tripathi, who was also present at the press meet, said the country should have any relationship with any country at the cost of the rights of Palestinians. ?The people of India are committed to their cause,? he said. SP?s Shahid Siddiqui and CPI?s Kamal Mitra Chenoy also aired similar views.
