Kapil Sharma’s allegation of bribe against the BMC seems to have backfired as the civic body claims the office being constructed by the comedian is “illegal”. BMC officials said that the construction work on the second floor of his office was not permitted as per the rules.
According to the BMC, Kapil has violated all norms and he continues to illegally construct the second floor on the top of his office. Earlier, the comedian had not responded to a notice sent by the BMC in this regard. The notice clearly mentioned that the construction work being carried out by Kapil was illegal. However, the comedian didn’t stop the work.
Meanwhile, reports said that Mumbai police have decided to summon the comedian to question him over his bribe allegation against the BMC.
On Friday morning, Kapil took to the twitter to claim that he had to pay a bribe of Rs 5 lakh for the construction work of his office. He also tagged PM Narendra Modi, asking if this is the ‘achche din’ promised by him.
Both Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the richest civic body in the country, were quick to respond to Kapil’s allegations.
I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi

Fadnavis assured Sharma that the culprit will be caught.“Kapilbhai pls provide all info. Have directed MC, BMC to take strict action. We will not spare the culprit,” Fadnavis tweeted out to Sharma within hours.
The BMC, which regularly faces corruption charges, asked Sharma to make a formal complaint and name the officer who demanded the bribe from him. BJP MLA Ram Kadam filed a complaint against the BMC over Kapil’s allegation.
Kapil has refused to respond to media queries about details of his allegation. He has also not responded to Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis’s request of revealing the name of the guilty BMC official who allegedly took Rs 5 lakh bribe from him.
Noting that the allegation made by Kapil is serious, Pawar asked for the name of the official who asked for bribe. “We will strongly act against the concerned officials if they are found guilty,” Pawar said.
