Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 11th meeting of the Inter-State Council on saturday after a gap of almost ten years.

As an example of ‘co-operative federalism’, Chief Ministers of states, and other ministers were present to discuss national issues like education, governance etc.

Modi tweeted, “Delighted to participate in Inter-State Council meeting. Heard views of CMs & shared my thoughts on various topics.”

The focuss of discussions included law and order, education, Adhaar, technological developments and Punchhi Commission.

“Acceptance of Aadhaar as a means of good governance & transparency is gladdening. It ensures savings to exchequer & better service delivery,” tweeted the Prime Minister.

Talking about education, Modi said just expansion of education is not adequate, instead quality should be the focus and that it can be done by using technology.

“[The council] Reaffirmed the vitality of Centre & States working together for India’s overall progress & bringing a qualitative change in people’s lives.” tweeted Modi.
