Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 11th meeting of the Inter-State Council on saturday after a gap of almost ten years.
As an example of ‘co-operative federalism’, Chief Ministers of states, and other ministers were present to discuss national issues like education, governance etc.
Modi tweeted, “Delighted to participate in Inter-State Council meeting. Heard views of CMs & shared my thoughts on various topics.”
The focuss of discussions included law and order, education, Adhaar, technological developments and Punchhi Commission.
We had comprehensive deliberations on law & order & various aspects around it. This is an important area of Centre-State cooperation.

Talking about education, Modi said just expansion of education is not adequate, instead quality should be the focus and that it can be done by using technology.
“[The council] Reaffirmed the vitality of Centre & States working together for India’s overall progress & bringing a qualitative change in people’s lives.” tweeted Modi.
