Amazon has witnessed five-fold growth in the number of units sold over the past two days, during its Great Indian Summer Sale, compared to last two weeks’ average sale, the e-commerce major said.
“We are very excited to see the amount of interest and excitement this event has generated among customers from across the country. The response has been unprecedented and far exceeds our expectations,” said Samir Kumar, director – category management, Amazon India.

According to Amazon, the opening day of the sale was its biggest so far, with customers clocking several thousand orders per minute. Footfall on the first day surpassed the numbers recorded during its Diwali sale last year.
