The Renton Police Department in Washington is reportedly investigating a deadly shooting with multiple victims. The incident took place near Kirkland Avenue in the late hours of Saturday, 7:30 ET. As per a police spokesperson, three lives have been lost in the deadly shooting. Officials have not been able to locate the suspect yet and have thus advised people to avoid the area.

Reports from local media reveal that the shooting took place in a residential area, just off of Hilcrest Lane. However, the Renton Police do not believe there is a threat to the community since the suspect knew the victims in some way, as per their investigation.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that they “thought they heard fireworks”, only later did they discover was gunshots across the street. “A few months ago, there was another stabbing across the day,” told a resident from the neighbourhood to local media King5. They also mentioned that there were pre-schools, and the repeated occurrences have become a cause of worry.

As per the authorities, the incident triggered heavy policing. This comes just hours after a vehicle rammed into a huge crowd in Los Angeles, injuring over 30 with seven in critical condition. While the investigation and rescue efforts are underway, a search for the driver revealed that he was dead in East Hollywood.

Local media reported that a man was shot five times at a transit centre earlier this week in Renton. It was triggered by a brief tiff in the area.
