A man dressed in a Nazi uniform was arrested on Friday after assaulting a university student in Georgia. Videos of the incident have since gone viral and show 33-year-old Kenneth Leland Morgan attacking a group of women and cursing loudly. He entered an off-campus pub while dressed as a Nazi Gestapo officer and took umbrage when confronted by patrons.

“We are horrified by the actions of an individual who, while in downtown Athens wearing a Nazi uniform, assaulted a female University of Georgia student. The man is not a student and is not affiliated with the University. His actions, which were caught on videotape, are appalling, and we are grateful to Athens-Clarke County police officers for swiftly apprehending and arresting him,” the school said in a statement.

The viral clip showed the costumed ‘Nazi’ trying to hit a woman huddled on the pavement while three others tried to push him away. He is also heard cursing loudly as they managed to make him retreat after attacking 23-year-old Grace Lang. Footage from inside the bar also showed Morgan walking around with a beer mug and swinging it vehemently into her face. Lang said she got hit after trying to grab his swastika armband and later received four stitches for cuts to her face..

Lang told NBC News that her friends (one of whom is Jewish) had first confronted the man after he entered the bar while cosplaying as a Nazi. The 23-year-old idenfied her attacker as Morgan — someone she knew through a friend of a friend and saw in social circle around town.

According to Athens-Clarke County jail records, Morgan was booked early on Friday over suspicion of two misdemeanor counts of simple battery and one felony count of aggravated assault.
