After the high-profile Alaska summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Donald Trump swiftly changed his tone on urging for a ceasefire amid Russia’s war in Ukraine. The 79-year-old American commander-in-chief is now focussing his energy on getting a permanent peace deal finalised between the two countries, playing his bit as the self-proclaimed “peacemaker.”
Although his recent U-turn on the global conflict seems to align with Putin’s view, Trump has reportedly further revealed that the Russian leader is ready to pull back his current front lines in exchange for all of the Donbas region.
Many described the Alaska summit as a clear win for Putin, who not only did not face any sanctions or immediate ceasefire, but was also gifted more time after the Trump meeting. US coverage has since suggested that the Russian president not just emerged as Trump’s equal in Anchorage, but also managed to come out a bigger winner than expected.
Even Fox News’ Jacqui Heinrich, who was on the ground in Alaska this Friday, said the Russian leader “steamrolled” the US president, posed for the famous picture we have now, and left.

Gavin Newsom’s mockery of Trump ramps up after Putin Alaska summit
California Governor Gavin Newsom, an outspoken Trump critic who has especially been vocal against the president due to his recent immigration crackdown and enhanced ICE raids, also used his public platform to call out the MAGA leader’s VIP treatment of Putin. “Trump had our BRAVE AMERICAN SOLDIERS ON THEIR KNEES to roll out the RED CARPET for his best friend VLAD!” his press office’s official social media account wrote on X, plugging a photo of the scene.
Newsom’s office has especially ramped up memes against Trump over the past few weeks, as the SNS account has resorted to mocking the president in his own style. Its feed is now flooded with a flurry of all-caps messages (akin to the Republican politician’s seemingly endless rants on Truth Social), parodies and AI-edited memes.
Empowered by the same motive, Newsom’s press office continued to imitate Trump’s infamous style in yet another tweet they pushed out shortly after the Alaska meet.

“TRUMP JUST FLED THE PODIUM WITH PUTIN — NO QUESTIONS, NOTHING! TOTAL LOW ENERGY. THE MAN LOOKED LIKE HE’D JUST EATEN 3 BUCKETS OF KFC WITH VLAD. IS HE AFRAID THE PRESS WILL ASK ABOUT ME??? (AMERICA’S FAVORITE GOVERNOR) AND THE FACT I “STOLE THE CAMERAS” THIS WEEK WITH “THE MAPS”?” @GovPressOffice tweeted at the time.
“MANY PEOPLE ARE SAYING HE BEGGED PUTIN TO HOLD HIS HANDS (TINY) ON THE WAY OUT. ADMIT IT, DONNIE J… YOU’RE TERRIFIED BECAUSE THIS WAS THE WORST WEEK OF YOUR LIFE BECAUSE OF ME, GAVIN C. NEWSOM. “THE MAPS” WILL END YOUR PRESIDENCY, RETAKE CONGRESS FOR THE PEOPLE, AND EXPOSE YOUR RIGGED “LITTLE GAME.” MY “PERFECT MAPS” ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN ANYTHING IN TRUMP TOWER (WHICH MANY SAY SMELLS WEIRD).
“@STEVENCHUENG47 — EXPLAIN THIS DISASTER!!! ENJOY YOUR FLIGHT HOME, DONALD — YOU’RE PUTIN’S PROBLEM NOW. I’M AMERICA’S SOLUTION. — GCN.”

Stephen King joins Newsom in dragging Trump
As the streak continued, author Stephen King also took to his X profile, joining Newsom’s side. He first re-posted the governor press office’s tweet that begins: “BEYOND THE BEAUTIFUL, “PERFECT MAPS” — DONALD J. TRUMP HAS MUCH BIGGER PROBLEMS. SOON, I — GAVIN C. NEWSOM — WILL BE SHARING RECORDS THAT SHOULD CONCERN HIM.”
Can you possibly trust a President who can't spell, has serious problems with grammar, and capitalizes at random? I think not. A President who can't write can't think. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A bit later, he came back to take direct aim at the US president. “Can you possibly trust a President who can’t spell, has serious problems with grammar, and capitalizes at random? I think not,” he wrote on X. “A President who can’t write can’t think. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Even other netizens joined in and left streams of comments about Newsom’s latest satirical embrace. “@GovPressOffice Your tweets mocking Trump are hilarious, but you’ve really got to stop spelling all your words correctly,” someone quipped after sharing one these Trump-critiquing posts. “You may also want to use lower-case words and randomly capitalize nouns…strongly.”

Such posts targeting Trump on his grammar use and spellings have grown in the recent past as the president even ended up misspelling his own name as “DONAKD J. TRUMP,” in a June post about B-2 pilots. His typo-riddled social media history has even seen him call his own wife, Melania, “Melanie,” in addition to the infamous “covfefe” 2017 message.
In a recent post addressing Sydney Sweeney (who was revealed to have registered as a Republican voter in Florida just months before Trump won his second term in office), the POTUS ended up calling her “Sidney” too.
Based on analysis of Trump's tweets and statements (e.g., "covfefe," "smocking," "unpresidented," recent "stollen" for "stolen"), I rate his spelling 3/10 and grammar 5/10—frequent errors, simplistic structure, random caps.
