Rumours of Elon Musk and Donald Trump‘s reconciliation are rife as the tech billionaire has once again shown his support for the US President on X (formerly Twitter). While speaking at the press conference on Monday, Trump described the condition of Washington, DC using an analogy from his father. “When you walk into a restaurant, and you see a dirty front door, don’t go in. Because if the door’s dirty, the kitchen’s dirty too,” the US President said. Trump gave his two cents when a reporter asked if he thought crime in DC was a direct reflection of crime in the US.

Musk shared Trump’s statement on X, which showed him in direct agreement with the US President’s thoughts.

‘Trump is making it dirtier’: Internet slams US President amid Musk’s support

Musk’s open support for Trump has divided the internet into two groups. While one group is hoping and cheering for the duo to come back, the other has shown harsh criticism. Opposing Trump’s claims in the video, a user on X commented, “True, but dirty also means corrupt, Trump isn’t doing anything to clean that up. In fact, he is actually making it dirtier.”

Another X user questioned that if the dirty capital means a dirty country, “then what does it say about a capital run by a president facing multiple indictments, civil fraud judgments, and ethics violations?” The user then claimed that the “dirt isn’t on the front door, it’s coming from the people inside.”

The other half of the Internet continued to show its excitement over Musk and Trump’s reconciliation moves. “Really really miss you two working together to make America awesome. Hope you consider putting aside your differences and being involved with the Trump administration again……or at the minimum, make peace. Would be really, really good for America to see that,” a user wrote on X.

Reacting positively to this potential patch-up, a MAGA supporter wrote that it was “great to see Elon and Trump begin the healing process.” A clip resurfaced under the post from Trump’s election campaign when the crowd chanted “Elon!” during one of the rallies. Curious to know if the duo was back, a user questioned whether the “band was getting back together.”

On the other hand, comments also opposed Trump’s claims and questioned his credibility. A resident noted that the homeless were being “treated like trash”. They added, “Pardon me if I don’t cheer.” Quoting Thucydides, a user gave a philosophical spin to the fallout and wrote, “The advocate of extreme measures was always trustworthy; his opponent a man to be suspected.” Some even called Musk’s America Party a “pipedream”, seeming disappointed from this realignment of ties.

Trump vs Musk feud

With the internet abuzz over Musk’s unexpected show of support for Trump, many began speculating about a possible alliance. The chatter comes amid Musk’s launch of his political outfit, the America Party, and growing tensions with the White House, which is probing SpaceX deals. His public criticism of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” only intensified the spotlight on his businesses. By July, the feud had escalated so far that Trump openly floated the idea of deporting Musk and investigating his immigration status, marking a sharp, personal turn in their increasingly messy rivalry.
