Two left-wing Israeli lawmakers, Ofer Cassif and Ayman Odeh, were escorted out of the Knesset on Tuesday after disrupting a speech by Trump with protests and a sign calling for the recognition of Palestine.

Trump also referenced the recent ceasefire, stating, “The skies are calm, the guns are silent, and the holy land is at peace,” calling it a “historic dawn.”

The president further added the importance of Israel’s security, linking the peace deal in Gaza to Israel’s strength, which he attributed to US support. Trump noted, “Bibi [Netanyahu] would call me so many times” requesting weapons – “so many that Israel became strong and powerful … that’s what led to peace.”

He also stated that the challenge posed by Iran, stating that the peace agreement would not have been possible with a “nuclear Iran” and added that it “would be great to strike a nuclear deal with Iran.
