Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially taken their $68 million Los Angeles mansion off the market after finalising their divorce earlier this year. The former couple, who tied the knot in 2022, made the joint financial decision after months of failing to secure a buyer for their lavish Beverly Hills estate.

The sprawling 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom property was first offered off-market in June 2024 before being listed publicly in July. Despite an initial flurry of interest, the home failed to attract serious offers. In an attempt to spark buyer interest, Lopez and Affleck slashed the price from $68 million to $59.95 million. Still, the market remained cold.

“They lowered the price to get more interest, and when this didn’t happen, they were advised to take it off the market,” a source told People. “It was a business decision that they made together.”

Why was the decision delayed?

Real estate experts pointed to broader market conditions as a major reason for the property’s lack of movement. “It’s a rough seller’s market, especially at that price point,” one insider noted. “Taking it off the market until conditions improve seemed like the smartest move.” Despite the romantic fallout, sources said both Lopez and Affleck approached the sale of the home practically, treating it as a shared financial asset rather than an emotional one.

Divorce finalised after months of separation

Lopez, 55, officially filed for divorce in August 2024 after more than two years of marriage. However, the couple had reportedly been living separately since April of that year. The divorce was finalized in January, bringing a quiet end to a high-profile relationship that had once captivated fans worldwide.

Since the split, both stars have moved on at least geographically. Affleck purchased a $20.5 million mansion in Pacific Palisades in July 2024, choosing a location closer to his three children, Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 12, whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

Lopez, meanwhile, selected an $18 million home in Los Angeles in March 2025, marking a fresh start as she continues to balance her career, motherhood, and life after divorce. While their marriage may have ended, Lopez and Affleck’s decision to step back from selling their former marital home appears to be a carefully considered move amid a challenging real estate market.
