Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump sharply criticised the violent attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh, in his Diwali wishes on Thursday. He stated that Bangladesh is experiencing significant turmoil and accused Kamala Harris and Joe Biden of neglecting Hindus both globally and in the United States. Trump expressed strong disapproval of the horrific violence targeting Hindus, Christians, and other minority groups in Bangladesh, where mobs are attacking and looting. He described the situation as one of complete chaos in a post on Truth Social.

Trump claimed that such events would not have occurred during his administration, criticizing Kamala Harris and Joe Biden for overlooking Hindus both globally and in the US He described their leadership as a failure in various international matters and expressed a commitment to restoring strength and peace in America.

“It would have never happened on my watch. Kamala and Joe have ignored Hindus across the world and in America. They have been a disaster from Israel to Ukraine to our own Southern Border, but we will Make America Strong Again and bring back Peace through Strength!,” Trump said.

He further pledged to protect Hindu Americans from what he called the radical left’s anti-religion agenda, stating that he would advocate for their freedom and strengthen the relationship between the US and India, particularly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A number of Hindu Americans have voiced their gratitude for Trump’s dedication to protecting the rights of Hindus around the globe, including those in the U.S. and Bangladesh, especially given the concerns about challenges posed by the political left.

During July and August this year, hundreds of Hindus lost their lives as student protests escalated in Bangladesh, prompting then-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to leave the country on August 5.

During his presidency from 2017 to 2020, Trump marked Diwali at the White House for four consecutive years. Former First Lady Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka Trump participated in the celebrations alongside him.
