A Pakistan Air Force training base in Punjab province was attacked by armed militants in the early hours of Saturday. The assault led to damages to three stationary aircraft, as reported by the army.

In an official statement, the Pakistan Army confirmed that terrorists targeted the Mianwali Training Air Base of the Pakistan Air Force. Nevertheless, soldiers thwarted the attack by killing three of the assailants and cornering the remaining three.

The statement noted, “During the attack, some damage was inflicted on three aircraft that were already grounded, along with a fuel bowser.”

The statement added that a comprehensive joint clearance and combing operation is in its final stages to completely secure the area. The army emphasized its unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country, regardless of the cost.

This attack occurred shortly after a series of terrorist incidents that claimed the lives of at least 17 soldiers in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
