Switzerland authorities on Wednesday pressed charges against the husband of ex-Miss Switzerland finalist Kristina Joksimovic for her murder.
The model’s body was cut apart with a jigsaw knife and garden shears, according to the autopsy report and court documents. Swiss officers involved in the investigation report that Thomas removed her womb, the only organ taken from her torso, before chopping parts of her body with an industrial blender.
Police later recovered the blender, as well as skin flaps with muscle tissue attached and bone fragments, The Telegraph reported.
Who found the body?
Officials said some remains were “pureed” and mixed in a chemical solution. As per a NY post report the victim’s body was discovered by her own horrified father a few hours after the murder.
The murder took place earlier this year in March. Following the murder, Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office conducted a detailed investigation on the happenings till December 10.
Thomas initially claimed he found his wife dead, but admitted in March that he killed her. In his refreshed testimony, Thomas maintained that he acted in self-defence after she allegedly attacked him with a knife. However, forensic experts found no evidence of that; they concluded that she was strangled.
What did the investigation reveal?
Investigators found the blender and the model’s remains, including flaps of skin with muscles still attached, as well as chunks of bone. Post the victim’s father’s complaint, Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
Over the course of their investigation, the officers learnt that Thomas was watching YouTube videos on his phone while dismembering his wife. The autopsy reports submitted by Swiss authorities further found that Thomas allegedly snapped her hip joints, removed multiple limbs, severed her spine before ultimately decapitating her.
The couple had two daughters together. Kristina Joksimovic was crowned Miss Northwest Switzerland and became a finalist for Miss Switzerland back in 2007. She later became a catwalk coach and mentored several models, including Dominique Rinderknecht, ahead of her appearance at Miss Universe 2013. The date for her case’s trial remains to be set.
