US President Donald Trump has reacted to climate activist Greta Thunberg’s video, in which she said that she was “kidnapped” by the Israeli army while on her way to provide aid in Gaza.

Thunberg in the video said, “My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel.”

‘She’s a young, angry person’: Trump on Greta Thunberg

Reacting to Greta’s video, Trump said, “Is that what she said? She was kidnapped by Israel?”

Breaking silence on Greta’s video, Trump added, “She’s a young, angry person. I don’t know if it’s real anger, it’s hard to believe, actually. But I saw what happened. She’s certainly different. Anger management. I think she has to go to an angry management class. That’s my primary recommendation for her.”

He further added that Israel had “enough problems without kidnapping Greta”.

Israeli forces had seized control of the British-flagged charity ship Madleen after it attempted to breach the naval blockade on Gaza. The vessel, run by the pro-Palestinian group Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), had 12 people on board, including climate activist Greta Thunberg. Officials confirmed on Sunday that the ship was then taken to an Israeli port.

Before the vessel was intercepted, the FFC shared a pre-recorded SOS video of Thunberg on X and claimed the volunteers aboard had been “kidnapped” by Israeli authorities. They urged people to contact their foreign ministries to help ensure the safety of those on board.
