Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his readiness to work swiftly towards ending the conflict with Russia, as he extended an olive branch to US President Donald Trump.

“My team and I are prepared to collaborate under President Trump’s strong leadership to achieve a lasting peace,” Zelenskiy shared on platform X on Tuesday.

“Initial steps could involve the release of prisoners and establishing a no-fly zone — halting the use of missiles, long-range drones, and bombs targeting energy and other civilian infrastructure. We could also see an immediate truce at sea, provided Russia reciprocates.”

Zelenskiy’s remarks followed Trump’s decision to suspend all US military aid to Ukraine, adding pressure on the Ukrainian leader. The suspension affects all US military equipment not yet in Ukraine, including weapons in transit via aircraft or ships, as well as those awaiting transfer in Poland.

While the exact number of affected weapons remains unclear, Trump inherited the authority to provide $3.85 billion in military aid from former President Joe Biden’s administration.
