A Pakistani court has sentenced a rare punishment to a man in Sindh province. The court has ordered 80 lashes to the person for refusing to admit the paternity of his child and falsely blaming his ex-wife for adultery.

Additional District and Sessions Judge (Malir) Shehnaz Bohyo sentenced Fareed Qadir under Section 7(1) of the Offence of Qazf (Enforcement Of Hadd) Ordinance, 1979 for disowning his legal kid and making wrong charges against his ex-wife, reported Dawn News on Monday.

Also, the court said that after the conviction, the man’s evidence shall not be permitted in any court of law following the confirmation of the conviction from the Federal Shariat Court.

Couple married in February 2015

The couple married in February 2015. The convict’s ex-wife said they cheerfully lived together for one month and in December 2015 gave birth to a baby girl.

However, her ex-husband failed to give maintenance or take her back to his home.

When the wife knocked on the doors of the family court, the judge ruled in her favour and ordered the man to provide maintenance for his daughter and former wife.

Interestingly, during the proceedings, the man submitted two applications in court, requesting a DNA test for the baby girl and disowning his daughter.
