Pakistan General Elections Results 2024 Latest news: Talha Saeed, son of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed, has lost the Lahore contest, ARY News said on Friday. The counting of votes in underway in Pakistan after the voting for the crucial General Elections took place on Thursday.
Marred by internet clampdown and sporadic violence, the results of the General Elections will pave a new road for Pakistan’s future. Reports coming in from the country say that it’s a close contest between Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif. Earlier in the day, jailed Imran Khan had claimed victory even as Sharif’s PML(N) continue to lead the counting trends.
According to ARY News, Latif Khosa, who is backed by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has won the NA-122 seat of Lahore with 1,17,109 votes. Khosa defeated Hafiz Saeed’s son and PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique, who came distant second with 77,907 votes.

Ahead of the general elections, Hafiz Saeed had announced a new party – Pakistan Markazi Muslim League. Many said that he was the new face of Hafiz Saeed’s banned groups. A BBC Urdu report had said that most of the candidates nominated by Pakistan Markazi Muslim League are either close relatives of Hafiz Saeed or have been associated with banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
