Operation Sindoor: Indian Armed Forces launched “precision strikes” to flatten nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The targeted strikes against infrastructure linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen killed several members of terrorist outfits. As a result, their funeral prayer was reportedly held in the presence of Pakistani Army personnel and was led by LeT commander Hafiz Abdul Rauf.
The funeral, held in Muridke – 40 km from Lahore, was for the following terrorists: Qari Abdul Malik, Khalid and Mudassir, as reported by PTI.
A video of the funeral run by Pakistan’s Samaa TV has been doing the rounds on social media. It shows LeT commander Hafiz Abdul Rauf leading the funeral for terrorists.

In 2010, the United States designated LeT commander Hafiz Abdur Rauf as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT). Following this, US citizens were prohibited from engaging in any transactions with him, and his assets in the United States were frozen.
“LET is responsible for the November 2008 Mumbai attacks and the July 2006 Mumbai train bombings. LET was designated by the Department of State as a Foreign Terrorist Organisation (FTO) and an SDGT in December 2001. It was added to the UN 1267 Committee’s Consolidated List in May 2005,” a 2010 directive by the US read.
Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor, which continued for 25 minutes after midnight, was carried out by the Indian Armed Forces to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen. The Ministry of Defence, in a statement, said that the Operation Sindoor was a “measured” one and “non-escalatory” in nature. It added, “No Pakistani military activities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution.”
The name of the operation – “Sindoor” – draws inspiration from the red vermilion traditionally worn by Hindu women as a symbol of marriage and pays tribute to those who lost their lives in the heinous terrorist attack on April 22 in the Valley.
