In a heart warming video, two nurses in South-West China went out of their way to protect babies during the earthquake in Myanmar. The video posted on social media platform, X, by CGTN, an international media organization.

In the video, during a magnitude-7.7 earthquake that struck Myanmar, nurses at a maternity center in Ruili City, southwest China’s Yunnan Province, are seen rushing to protect newborn babies. The footage shows the nurses’ swift actions as they ensure the safety of the infants during the tremors.

On Saturday, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Mandalay on Saturday, adding to a series of aftershocks rattling central Myanmar. The death toll from the earthquake that hit Myanmar has risen to more than 1,700 as more bodies have been pulled from the rubble.

Amid the tragedy, he military junta has continued to bomb parts of the war-torn country, as per BBC. Government spokesman Maj. Gen. Zaw Min Tun told state-run MRTV that another 3,400 have been injured and more than 300 were missing. He did not provide more specific figures.

Emergency aid is pouring into Myanmar after Friday’s 7.7 magnitude earthquake near Mandalay. India has sent relief materials, rescue teams and medical equipment in five military aircraft to Myanmar. According to an Indian Express report, New Delhi dispatched relief materials, medicines, an 80-member search and rescue team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and military field hospitals to Myanmar in three C-130J and two C-17 Globemaster aircraft. A specialised rescue team from Indian Army’s 50 (I) Para Brigade has also been swiftly deployed to Myanmar.

Meanwhile, local authorities have urged residents to stay alert for further tremors and follow safety guidelines. Reportedly, disaster response teams are monitoring the situation closely, and assessments are underway to determine any structural damage.
