A very mysterious looking, barnacle-covered object was found at a beach in New Zealand. When the pictures of the object were put on social media, strong debates from commoners and experts ensued, about what the ‘thing’ could be. The big object was spotted in Auckland at Muriwai Beach by a local person names Melissa Doubleday who posted pictures of the object on a Facebook group called the ‘Muriwai & Waimauku Area Community Group’, along with the caption, “Just curious to know if anyone knows what this is??! Washed up on Muriwai Beach.”
Melissa Doubleday said that she could spot the object from around 5 kilometres down the beach from the creek. He commented, “(I) drove past and (was) like what the?” Doubleday added, “It looks like worms with shells I’ve never seen before with these funny creatures that just come out.” This led to a lot of comments and debates on the social media platform, each person guessing what the object could be. A few said that it could be part of an old ship wreck which some people believed that it could be a work of art as well.
While most of them were scratching their head, there were some hilarious speculations as well. Someone said that it is a ‘Sea monster’s dreadlocks’, while one of them went on to write, ‘Alien Pod time capsule?’ Meanwhile, others remain clueless. “Wow, what a find! No idea what it is. Curious,” said one of them. Many believed the object to be ‘Drift wood covered in Goose Barnacles.’
But whatever the ‘Muriwai monster’ is, it sure looks straight out of our nightmares.
