Terror organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed intensified its outreach and recruitment efforts this week — with Masood Azhar releasing a lengthy audio message. The clip came days after the Pakistan-based group launched an online course for women to learn about the “jihadi” lifestyle. Both developments are part of an extensive drive to “indoctrinate and recruit” candidates for its newly formed Jamat ul-Muminat female brigade.
According to reports, the JeM chief had outlined a detailed training plan that will see women being inducted into a long-term “global jihad” mission. Azhar can be heard explaining that women joining the Jamat ul-Muminat would be trained through an induction course called Daura-e-Taskiya at its headquarters in Bahawalpur. The terror group has indoctrinated male recruits fthrough a similar course called Daura-e-Tarbiat for more than 20 years.
The wanted terrorist also claimed that any woman joining the newly formed female brigade led by his sister Sadiya Azhar would go “straight to paradise from her grave after death”. He also outlined details about a second follow-up course that would explain how Islamic texts “instruct women to conduct jihad”.
Online ‘jihad’ classes
The lengthy audio surfaced on social media nearly a week after it was reported that the Jamat ul-Muminat was launching an online course to further its agenda. The course will be taught by Sadiya Azhar and Samaira Azhar (the sisters of JeM chief Masood Azhar), and participants are urged to ‘donate’ PKR 500 for the training. According to multiple reports, the online training module (called Tufat al-Muminat) will begin holding ‘classes’ from November 8. Women family members of Jaish leaders will teach others about their ‘duties’ in the context of jihad and Islam during the 40-minute sessions.
