Operation Sindoor: After India launched its retaliatory operation against Pakistan to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan has been carrying out attacks in border areas, which India has been successfully thwarting. Amid this, several videos have been going viral with misleading claims, and the government agencies and officials have been working in unison to debunk them all.

PIB’s Fact Check unit has been active more than ever, with the team debunking viral claims in real time. After a social media user, whose bio says he is a journalist, shared a post claiming that “explosions can be heard at the Jaipur Airport” and added a video to support his claim, PIB debunked it.

“Jaipur Airport is safe,” it said, adding that the claim is “FAKE”.

The District Collector and Magistrate’s clarification came after a leading media house shared a video of explosions with the caption, “Explosions can be heard at the Jaipur Airport.”

“This NEWS is baseless and misleading,” said District Collector & Magistrate of Jaipur on X (formerly known as Twitter). The post further said, “Jaipur Airport is completely safe.”

The organisation has now deleted its post.

Earlier, there were reports that Pakistani drones had hit Jalandhar and caused a massive fire. A video was also shared to substantiate the claim. However, the claim was FALSE, and the video, which was widely shared and caused panic among citizens, was FAKE.

“Drone attack in Jalandhar? This drone strike video from Jalandhar is widely circulating on social media,” it wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) while sharing a video.

It added, “This is an unrelated video of a farm fire. The video has the time 7:39 PM, while the drone attack began later. Do not share this video.”

Not only PIB, but the Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar also debunked the viral video. “This is an unrelated video,” he said in a statement on Facebook.

The Deputy Commissioner added, “Jalandhar has seen some drones tonight and they are being neutralised by the Army. This video is at 7.39 pm, as can be seen in the display, while the first drone was sighted near 9 pm. This has been confirmed as a farm fire,” before urging people not to circulate the video.
