Ranveer Allahbadia, a well-known digital content creator, entrepreneur, and podcast host, finds himself at the center of controversy following his remarks on comedian Samay Raina’s show, India’s Got Latent. During the show, he posed an inappropriate question to a contestant regarding witnessing or participating in their parents’ intimate moments. A clip of the exchange quickly went viral, triggering widespread backlash online. Here’s a closer look at the controversy and everything you need to know about him.

“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever?,” he said.

Who is Ranveer Allahbadia?

Ranveer was recognised in Forbes 30 Under 30. He studied at Dhirubhai Ambani International School and later at Dwarkadas J. Sanghvi College of Engineering.

He is the founder of BeerBiceps Media World Pvt. Ltd. and has amassed over 6 billion views across 12 YouTube channels. His flagship show, The Ranveer Show, features interviews with entrepreneurs, Bollywood stars, and athletes. He also runs Ranveer Allahbadia (Hindi), a Hindi-language version of his podcast. In September 2024, his YouTube channels were hacked and renamed “Tesla,” with content replaced by old Elon Musk and Donald Trump event streams.

Beyond YouTube, he has co-founded several ventures, including Monk-E (a talent management agency), BigBrainco (a YouTube channel), Level Supermind (a self-help app), and BeerBiceps SkillHouse (offering courses in podcasting and video editing), as per his LinkedIn profile.

Ranveer Allahbadia has been involved in multiple controversies. In 2021, he was criticised for a sexist tweet about women wearing kurtis. In July 2023, during a podcast with advocate J Sai Deepak, he asked which individuals should leave India, leading to backlash when Deepak named journalists and historians. In April 2024, he was slammed for platforming an unverified claim about a village in Malappuram, Kerala, enforcing Islamic law.

He is often trolled for his recurring podcast question, “Maut ke baare mein sochte ho?” (Do you think about death?). Ironically, he had a near-death experience in Goa last year when he almost drowned while on vacation with his girlfriend.

In 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the Disruptor of the Year award to Ranveer Allahbadia. During the exchange, Modi encouraged Allahbadia to raise awareness about sleep deprivation, acknowledging his own struggle with limited sleep over the years. The two shared a lighthearted moment on stage when Allahbadia remarked, “Aapke saath podcast karne ka mood ho raha hai, sir (I am in the mood to do a podcast with you, Sir).” Modi responded with a witty remark, “Chaliye, mood toh har ek ke bahut hote hain bhai (A lot of people have a lot of moods).”
