American YouTuber and adventurer Michelle Khare has made a name for herself by taking on some of the most extreme and physically demanding challenges on the internet.

In her recent video, Khare tackles one of Hollywood’s most iconic stunts, the plane-hanging sequence from ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’, where Tom Cruise is seen clinging to the side of a C-130 military aircraft as it takes off.

The stunt, which Cruise famously performed without visible safety equipment, is known for its sheer audacity and danger.

In the video shared on her YouTube channel, Khare attempts the daredevil stunt. Though Khare is secured with a harness and safety gear, the video makes it clear that this was no easy feat.

The immense speed, high altitudes, and sheer force of the wind made the stunt incredibly demanding, even with all the safety precautions in place.

Khare’s version of the stunt mirrors Cruise‘s performance from ‘Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation’ in terms of scale and intensity. To prepare for the high-flying feat, Khare underwent a gruelling regimen of training that stretched over several weeks.

She worked with professional stunt coaches, training her neck and upper body muscles to withstand the forces at play while hanging in the air. A key part of her preparation included wind tunnel sessions, where she learned how to handle extreme gusts of wind.

The rigorous training was essential for building the strength and endurance needed to withstand the physical demands of such a stunt. As Khare explains in her vlog, the journey to recreate Cruise’s stunt was not just about physical training; it was also about understanding the intricacies of stunt work and pushing her own limits.

Behind the scenes

In an interview with ‘Vogue India’, Khare revealed just how much effort went into pulling off the stunt. “It might’ve been our most intense challenge ever. It was a gruelling 10-month endeavour for our team and we were very particular about every step of the process,” she explained to Vogue India.

Khare’s dedication to making the stunt as realistic as possible led her to work closely with engineers and professionals from various fields. She even consulted with freedivers and endurance artists to learn how to manage her breath and maintain focus while enduring extreme conditions.

“I’m the daughter of immigrants. My dad emigrated from India to the US and learnt a new language, a new culture. So growing up, I too gave everything my 110%,” she said in the Vogue India interview.

Her immigrant roots gave her the resilience and determination to take on seemingly impossible tasks and to constantly push herself to be better.

Michelle Khare’s motivation for attempting this ambitious stunt wasn’t just to showcase her abilities, but also to make a statement.

In her vlog, she explained the personal significance of the challenge, “If I have to convince Tom Cruise to do a stunt with me, I have to prove myself by recreating one of his biggest,” she explained to Vogue India. It was more than just a stunt and it was a way to prove her own commitment and capability in a world where the stakes are high and the challenges are unforgiving.

Khare’s desire to push her boundaries is at the heart of her YouTube series, ‘Challenge Accepted,’ where she takes on challenges from various disciplines, ranging from military training to circus performances. Each episode serves as a testament to her willingness to step outside her comfort zone and experience the world of extreme challenges firsthand.
